PORTLAND — The fall theatre season kicks off with a lively rendition of “Go, Dog. Go!” premiering on the Maddy’s Theatre stage on Friday, Oct. 6, – and running through Sunday, Nov. 5, at The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine in Portland.

Based on the beloved tale by P.D. Eastman, this main-stage production features a talented ensemble of adult actors collaborated closely with director Liz Carlson, embracing a physical approach to bring the enchanting world of dogs, planes, and more to life.

Carlson shared her insights into the show’s central theme, emphasizing how embracing silliness can lead to a deeper connection with oneself. Carlson stated, “This play is a celebration of authenticity and self-love. It encourages everyone to be their true selves, to occupy more space in this world. Once you experience it, you’ll be eager to return for more. Each character unfolds a unique narrative, filled with moments of skating and howling at the moon. It’s a whimsical journey that invites the audience to reflect, laugh, and ultimately cheer. By the end of the performance, you’ll find yourself shouting, ‘Go, Dog. Go!'”
