Call For Musical Directors
Seeking Musical Directors for the 2024 - 2025 Season in CMTM’s Maddy’s Theatre.
Help set the stage for all children to imagine and learn through play as a Musical Director in the 2024-2025 theatre season at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine (CMTM).
POSITION PURPOSE
The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine is seeking experienced Musical Directors for upcoming season productions in CMTM’s Maddy’s Theatre, creating engaging and high quality productions for family audiences. Musical Directors are paid for time in rehearsal, preparation, and production meetings. The Musical Director reports directly to the Theatre Production Manager. This is a part-time temporary position: $16/hr.
POSITION SUMMARY
Work closely with the production director to establish a clear musical vision of the show
Work closely with the production director to integrate musical rehearsal into the schedule
Work closely with Theatre Production Manager and Theatre Company Coordinator on any additional music rehearsal needs as necessary
Work closely with the actors in teaching music and developing musical skills
Work closely with actors on vocal warm ups to begin rehearsals and performances
Attend weekly production meetings

SCHEDULING AVAILABILITY
Approximately 12-15 hours per week, M-Th. Rehearsals are typically on weekdays from 6-9pm.
Tech rehearsals are weekdays 6-10pm. This is a part-time temporary position at $16/hr, dates based on specific productions. Musical Directors are not required to attend performances. See specific rehearsal calendars below for more information.

Tech rehearsals are weekdays 6-10pm.
Performances: June 29 - July 28, 2024
Intergenerational Production:
Timeline:
Rehearsals begin: early August, 2024
Rehearsals are typically on weekdays from 6-8pm
Tech rehearsals are weekdays 6-10pm.
Performances: September 28 - October 13, 2024
TYA Production 2:
Timeline:
Rehearsals begin: December 9, 2024
Rehearsals are typically on weekdays from 6-8pm
Tech rehearsals are weekdays 6-10pm.
Performances run: February 1 - 23, 2025
